This week my son graduated. He is my second child now to graduate High School. My first born is in Italy for the first time visiting with my family and she went alone. So you can only imagine my emotional roller coaster. Sadness, pride and fear! Kids! Oh and my youngest graduated from Pre - K! They make me old but they make me more happy than anything I have ever experienced in my entire life! I would never want to change anything. If it were not for them - I would not be who I am and who I am striving to be as I get older. :) Now I have four more babes to graduate. My next one in line will graduate in two years.  Avon has some cool deals going on this campaign 12. I hope you don't mind if I share a couple with you. :):) PURSES Jewelry MakeUp And there is so much more for you to see! Candle Sconces. Not just for candles anymore!

Image
So how is everyone's summers vacation going so far? Mine is warm. Kids are home from school now and the heat is really making its presents known. Thank goodness for pools! I found this great idea for candle scones! Just when we thought that you had to use them for candles only! This project is so easy that there are no instructions needed. All you have to do is look at the pictures! Its that easy and that self explanatory! I think this is a great idea for the bathroom. I would like to make one of these little shelves by the sink. What do you think? Pretty simple! Make up tip for today is about lipstick! Are you always having trouble finding the right shade for you?? One of the best ways to find the right color no matter what your skin tone, is to choose a color that is about one or two shades deeper than your natural bare lip colour.

Art classes for this year are almost over! And so is Campaign 11.

There is only a couple more days till Campaign 11 is over. If you missed anything of course you know you can still put in for a backorder later. :) I will keep those links open to you at all times! Today I am tired. Its cloudy outside. It keeps raining a little here.. a little there... I am hoping this summer I can paint a little more. I really need to find a groove where I can kinda pace myself. Kinda like when I was in school. One hour for this subject a day.. Another for this subject. So I have Family - Painting - Crocheting - Avon. Just need to figure out how to delegate it all. Staying off the net would probably help a lot! hahahaha... This is the last week for my art classes. I really did not think it would bother me too much. Yesterday I ended one and when all the children were telling me their stories about their silly animals - I honestly did not hear much of them. I just watched the kids as they talked. I looked at their faces and their happy eyes. I then became very sad....

The cost of things in 1987

Image
I was reading about the difference of costs from in the 80's compared to today. I wanted to share some of that with you. The average cost of a new home: $127,200.00 A VCR(no DVDs yet): $270.00 Ground Beef = 3 bucks a pound An 11oz can of ground coffee: $2.00 A six-pack of Coke: $1.89 Box of Frozen waffles: $1.50 A 10 Disk CD Changer: $400.00 A camcorder: $100.00 A first class stamp: $0.22 Gas: $0.96 per gallon! A candy bar: $0.40 A walkman: $45.00 A dozen eggs: $1.00 A gallon of milk: $1.80 A loaf of bread: $1.25 Average price of a new car: $10,500.00 A pack of Cigs: $1.25 (actually I remember when my mom bought them for $1.10) A box of cereal: $1.90 A Car Phone: $1,400.00 One Share of Microsoft Stocks: about $100.00 Times sure have changed! I remember when a walkman was out of the question for me because they were so expensive. A Cabbage Patch Doll at $35.00 was way too expensive as well.  What was your favorite 80's toy?

To Sale Or Not To Sale!

I had some trouble with my store lately. For some reason when someone registered on my page - they went to check out and they were sent to the reg. Avon.Com site. Unfortunate. If you want to order some Avon from me - please make sure that when you are checking out, you can still see my face at the top. Thank you! Other wise you would have to place my phone number at the bottom of the check out page. I tried to resolve this problem with Avon but got no where. Sorry. Anwyays. My blog for today is about being a salesman/woman. I have to say that my hats are off to all of those in this profession. I am just a woman at home with my kids and it is an experience. A woman came to my door wanting me to buy organic cleaning supplies. When I said Hello to her she started to rap about her product. I do not mean rap aka talk either. She literally started to RAP! I found it amusing. Even my children came to the door and listened to her. Well she started to show me what she could do with this stu...

Art And Porn

My problem is this - I dislike when I look at some art and I see all these paintings and drawings of what is without doubt a porn model posing from a magazine. Its just smut to me. I do not see it as art. My first reaction is to brush it aside. Not even considering the talents of the artist. And some of them are very talented! But I just see the painting or drawing and think that this guy or gal looks at a lot of porn. Then when others say how great the poses are and blah blah.. I think they too... Look at a lot of porn and their opinion now mean a lot less to me. Then there are those that actually buy it. Why not just rip the pages out of the books and take them to kinkos and blow them up? Frame it and rig that on your ceiling or above your bed. It would be a lot cheaper! I just do not think that it is the same thing. Just because you think you can... you can not pull your "I am an artist" card and tell me to love your scat. Now we can argue about this all the live long ...

Straight out of the book of virtues... PLEASE

Straight out of the Book of Virtues : PLEASE I was reading "The Book of Virtues" this morning and I came across this story. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you all: Please Webster's defines our manners as our "morals shown in conduct." Good people stick to good manners, as this story from a turn-of-the-century reader reminds us. There was once a little word named "Please," that lived in a small boy's mouth. Pleases live in everybody's mouth, though people often forget they are there. Now, all Pleases, to be kept strong and happy, should be taken out of the mouth very often, so they can get air. They are like little fish in a bowl, you know, that come popping up to the top of the water to breathe. The Please I am going to tell you about lived in the mouth of a boy named Dick; but only once in a long while did it have a chance to get out. For Dick, I am sorry to say, was a rude little boy; he hardly ever remembered to say ...

Fake Eye Lashes?

For a while now I have been wanting to try false eye lashes. I know that there are products out there that are supposed to help your eyelashes grow thicker and longer (for example: ANEW Lash-Transforming Mascara + Serum )but I am always looking for "natural" ways also. So I did some internet searching. I found some advice and I wanted to share it with you. Of course this remedy does not work right away. It takes time. Kinda like selling Avon! Not an overnight success! hahaha... Anyways. All joking aside - One way to naturally get longer thicker lashes is to apply olive oil to your eyelids at night. Make sure you message the oil onto your eyelids so that it gets all over it. Make sure you do not get the oil in your eyes though. Do this before you go to bed at night and then wash it off in the mornings. I read that you can use other oils such as castor oil, and even Vasoline. However I am not really thinking that Vasoline is a very "natural" thing to put on your ...

Make up Tip of the DAY!

Straight from Allure ....... 1. Take it easy. "Overly made-up skin is a one-way ticket to looking a lot older than you actually are," says makeup artist Chrisanne Davis. "If you have dark circles or some sun spots, dot a tiny bit of concealer on the inner corners of your eyes or on those spots, not all over the place." And while letting your skin show through may seem counterintuitive, "the more skin you can see, the better," says makeup artist Sandy Linter. "As long as it is well-hydrated, fresh skin looks much more youthful than an obviously covered complexion."

Anti - Socail.

Image
So this is one of those "confessions". Now I do not know if this will make me or break me but I have to be honest. Ready? Here goes... I am an anti soc! You can only imagine how hard that makes it for me to actually get out and sell Avon. They say I should be doing it door to door. I just can not seem to do it. This lady came to my door the other night selling some type of organic cleaner. She was very excited about her product. I kinda wanted it but I just did not have the means at the time to pay for it. She was telling me how pretty I was and how I was smart.. etc! She was "really" hard to say no to! She would not even let me get a word in edge wise. So now she was beginning to frustrated me. I just wanted to be able to say no and have her move on to the next where someone might say yes but not make her feel bad at the same time. Well when I finally got around to telling her no- she became rude! She started to speak to me as if I had offended her! I was really w...
